Kentucky Bluegrass is the most common sod.

1.
Prepare your soil - work soil up to release compaction. Sod needs a base of 4-6" of good quality
screened topsoil. Grade soil to slope away from house for good drainage and lightly roll.

2.
To determine how much sod you need, measure square footage of area. Pick up sod or arrange
delivery on the day you plan to install.

3.
To lay your sod, determine your first row by locating a straight line (either by string or driveway).
Stagger the pieces as you move row to row (like laying a brick) so ends dont's line up. Place tightly
together - don't overlap! Stake the soil installed on a slope. Roll with a water filled roller (1/3 full)
to make sure sod and soil are in good contact and remove air pockets.

4.

Immediately water to a depth of 1". Water once a day the first week, every other day the second
week, and once or twice in the third week.
